Blocks hanging from a colorful sky (Metamorfose)
In 1912 schilderde ik in acryl op Belgisch linnen het werk Blocks.
In 2018 heb ik het werk uit de opslag gehaald met het doel - zoals uiteindelijk blijkt - er een metamorfose van te maken. (Van sommig werk neem ik, achteraf gezien toch met spijt weer afscheid, om geen nieuwe doeken te hoeven kopen.)
Het doek heeft lang in mijn atelier gestaan, waarbij het diverse fases doorliep, die ik keer op keer opnieuw aanpaste.
In augustus en september 2019 was ik weer zo ver de kwast op te nemen, dit afwijkend van de palletmessen, die ik bij het meeste werk hanteerde. Ook heb ik vanuit diverse flessen acryl aangebracht op een deel van het werk, dat bij de naamgeving door mij werd benoemd als de ‘colorful sky’
De drie bewerkte blokken uit de vorige versie zijn met dunne en bijna onzichtbare ‘draadjes’ vanuit de kleurrijke hemel ietwat slordig neergelaten.
In de blauwe hemel manifesteert zich ook een bronzen object, als nagedachtenis aan een dierbare kunstenares.

Blocks hanging from a colorful sky (Metamorphosis)
In 1912 I painted the work Blocks in acrylic on Belgian linen.
In 2018 I removed the work from storage with the aim - as it turns out - to make it a metamorphosis. (I say goodbye to some of my work, looking back with regret, not to have to buy new canvases.)
The canvas has been in my studio for a long time, during which it went through various phases, which I worked over and over again.
In August and September 2019 I was ready to pick up the brush again, this deviating from the pallet knives that I used for most of the work. I also applied acrylic from various bottles to a part of the work that was named by me as the "colorful sky"
The three edited blocks from the previous version have been somewhat sloppyly dropped from the colorful sky with thin and almost invisible "threads".
A bronze object also manifests itself in the blue sky, as a memory of a dear artist.
