The photo for the ballet teacher
Jan-Clemens Lampe, visual artist and photographer, has made the photo series
De foto voor de balletjuf.
Peter, one of the three men of the ballet school 'men's ballet club', did know an "Art Photographer".
So I was asked to take the picture, which would be given as a present to the ballet teacher, who once a week drilled them into the correct positions of a ballet dancer and the necessary physical exercises, such as push-ups and stretching exercises to loosen muscles.
The final photo would represent the ballet teacher, surrounded by the three men in a ballet stand.
The special and somewhat wanton scheme would be that they would be dressed in Adam's costume.
So the end result was no longer a surprise to the ballet teacher.
Befor the referred final shots, the photographer shot a number of images according to his ideas, for which he also brought props and special ballet clothes, plus the necessary studio equipment.
After a short rest pose, the group photo was finally made.
The ballet teacher did have her expert input, because everyone had to be in the correct ballet position in the photo. She therefore indicated exactly in which position the gentlemen in the ensemble would be around her. This entire process was captured on photo.
After developing the photos in the then still wet darkroom, the selected photos were printed and given as a present to the ballet teacher by the men.
P.S.The men did not become professional ballet dancers.
